Product Introduction
The product features a substrate made of uniquely modified polypropylene woven fiber fabric, with butyl rubber modified asphalt as the anti-corrosion adhesive layer. Its fibrous substrate structure effectively resists creep damage caused by soil stress. Aging tests have demonstrated a corrosion-resistant service life exceeding 50 years, with all performance indicators significantly surpassing the requirements of the SY/T0414-98 standard and fully meeting the specifications of ANSI/AWWAC209-00 and NACEMR0274-95 standards. It is an optimal choice for cold-applied pipeline anti-corrosion tape and represents a cost-effective solution for corrosion protection.
Application Method
1. Steel pipe surface preparation: Remove rust, weld slag, burrs, oil, and contaminants, ensuring the surface is clean and dry. Manual derusting shall reach St3 grade, mechanical derusting shall achieve Sa2 grade, and comply with SYJ4007-86 requirements.
2. Primer application: Use the dedicated matching primer. Keep away from open flames during use, stir evenly, and apply uniformly with clean brushes, rollers, or other mechanical methods. Primer coverage: 12 m²/L for manual application, 20 m²/L for mechanical application.
3. Once the primer is surface-dry (typically 5–10 minutes), proceed with tape wrapping.
4. Trenching and backfilling: After passing quality inspection and acceptance, the pipe may be lowered into the trench.
Transportation and Storage
- Protect the tape from direct sunlight, rain, and crushing deformation during transportation.
- If exposed to freezing temperatures below 5°C during transportation or storage, store at approximately 20°C for 48 hours before application.
- Store in a cool, dry warehouse at 5–30°C with relative humidity <75%, away from heat sources and open flames. Shelf life: 12 months.
Applied range
It can be widely used in the external anti-corrosion and repair engineering of steel pipelines and buried steel storage tanks for oil, natural gas, chemical industries, urban water supply and drainage systems, as well as oil, gas, and coal gas transmission.
